Ostara Approaches with Birdsong and Longer Days
As Ostara approaches, we begin to see signs of life out in nature, most notably the birds have begun to sing once more, even if it is only on sunny, calm days. The days have also begun to lengthen once more, bringing us a promise of a growing season yet to begin.
Ostara takes place on the Spring Equinox, and celebrates new growth, rejuvenation, and rebirth. Many enjoy this day by connecting with the nature around them and practicing balance, as the length of day and night are equal.
Other traditions include painting eggs, planting flowers, and greeting Ostara's dawn with a sunrise walk or meditation.
Plants associated with Ostara are daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, violets, and spring beauties.
Animals closely tied to this Sabbat are rabbits and birds (and their eggs!).
Crystals most associated with Ostara are angelite, rose quartz, serpentine, orange calcite, ocean jasper, and blue cherry blossom agate. All of these crystals facilitate adjusting for new growth, creating balance, and bring us peace.
You can find all of these beautiful crystals in our Ostara crystal kit, available now at 15% off during our Grand Opening sale.
We hope you enjoy the remainder of winter and look forward to Ostara with us.
Much love from The Gentle Jasper
